I enjoy getting Christmas cards in the mail. I know so many who have now gone to email, which for me, kind of defeats the idea. The idea is to brighten up someone’s life for the holiday, not only to share your family’s history for the past year – although I don’t mind getting quick note on that too – it really is all about the card. It’s like a small gift to give at this time of year to brighten up someone’s day. Nothing says this better than a hand-made card.
Do you love to craft? Need some *new* ideas and maybe a new group to share and learn from? Maybe scrapbook or card making or jewellery making?
Want to make a little time away for yourself? Join my monthly get together to talk crafting!
CRAFTING CLUB DETAILS
What is it?
My Stampin Arts Studio Craft Club is a casual group of people who want to get together once a month to learn about a new craft or a cutting edge technique, as well as casually chat about crafting with the focus on learning for the first time or exchanging new and advanced techniques.
For a stamping project, for example, I will supply all of the materials and either teach or show you how to create at least 2 projects, sometimes a 3rd one!! This is a great way to expand your knowledge and learn a little bit of other crafting ideas.
I’m in! But what are my responsibilities as a club member?
Each member commits to coming every month to have fun and learn one new thing! When its your turn to be the hostess, just come with enough supplies for the rest of us to make or learn one project. You’re in control! Bring your crafting ideas and we will find a way to learn or take it away to make it at home.
Why should I join a club? What’s in it for me?
- Think of the club as a community of “hands-on” ideas.
- You bring ideas! You share ideas! They will *always* inspire!!
- You’ll learn advanced crafting techniques on a craft you want to take to the next level.
- Inspiration! You’ll meet some very cool people with great ideas that’ll keep that creativity flowing.
- And don’t forget about all of the great projects you will create, and great people you’ll meet!!
I’d love to join, but what if I can’t make it to all of the club nights?
No problem! Just let us all know ahead of time so you can either pick it up later or ask the host of the night to make one for your or give you a take-a-way package!
When does the it start?
It’s always ongoing but there is a commitment for your project when it’s your turn. Don’t worry, we’ll figure it out.
What day do we meet?
All meeting dates are preselected and presented at the first meeting so you can plan your schedule accordingly. Craft Club will usually be the fourth Wednesday of the month.
All clubs nights will be held from 7:00 – 9:30 pm
Where does the club meet?
We will meet at my home and I supply the beverages, hostesses for the project will bring a very light snack to share.

…a regular part of my craft and card making process.
Sometimes it’s easier to show complex craft or hobby tools rather than tell about them, so here’s a video about one of my go-to crafting tools, the Big Shot!
As part of my regular card making routine, I’ve come to appreciate this odd looking tool but this video from Stampin’ Up! makes it look a lot more accessible. And fun!
Find out more about the Big Shot here or join my monthly Craft Club and use it first hand!

I sent out this card recently as part of a shower of cards to show support for one of our card crafting demos who had just heard some bad news. So for a special treat I made her a layered die cut card using a couple of the die frames from the Word Bubbles Framelits Die and the “hi” die frame from the Label Card Thinlits Die. READ MORE »
