Sooooo here we go.

  1. Find some “how-to’s” and learn as much as you think you can handle for now. Check
  2. Buy as much as you can afford to get started. Check.
  3. Listen to others who are out there demonstrating the products and creating the content. Check.
  4. Think about everything you’ve learned then go with a few ideas. Check.
  5. Sit down and just do it! Check
  6. And finally, find one technique that will be easy enough to demonstrate and share. Working on it!

Exciting? You bet!

Statement of the Heart

Setting goals along the way is also a good idea. My goal was to create 12 different designs in one session, using only what I had. I came to rely quite a bit on Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio (MDS) to supplement my designs. Also  in the process creating a huge pile of mostly re-usable scrap paper … mostly.

Creating something with paper is a skill I remember well from high-school art classes where a lot of my work was showcased, my teacher loved my work and I loved doing it. But over the years I lost my passion as my interests turned to other things yet remained drawn to stamping artwork as well as drawing, painting and creating things.

Recently I rekindled that interest with my introduction to Stampin’ Up! products. Their colour groups make it easy to learn what looks good then the ribbons, embossing, buttons, punches and everything else allows simple ways  to kick up the final product just a bit more. Now I just have to practice, practice, practice my new found interest.

I’ll be back later with some thoughts of my own “how-to’s” to hopefully help others explore their own creative outlet. Join the Fun if you really want to get started now – only $125 and you choose what you want or need rather than a set kit. Great discount off the regular price of items.
