I sent out this card recently as part of a shower of cards to show support for one of our card crafting demos who had just heard some bad news. So for a special treat I made her a layered die cut card using a couple of the die frames from the Word Bubbles Framelits Die and the “hi” die frame from the Label Card Thinlits Die.
I have to admit it was a lot of fun! It took some planning though to make sure it turned out but it was quite neat once it all came together. I found an easier way to do it during my first attempt at this and noticed how much secondary impressions these dies leave on the paper around the edges so changed the way I did if for my second card. You can see the impressions in the photo just above the top of the “h” but I like it on this one alone.
Here is a close up of the “h” flourish; tricky to cut out and then refit, but not impossible. This is where something like a Paper-Piercing Tool comes in handy both taking it off the die itself and placing it here.
So the final card was simple (I added a bit more to the inside) but kind of different as I didn’t use any stamps at all. I was quite happy with it!
